The general idea of this project is anchored in the new 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the United Nations. The objective is to promote the values of sustainability and to increase global awareness of people who are able to internalise these values and transform them into sustainable everyday practices.
Our strategy to start this awareness-raising action on the SDGs is supported by the 'Sustainability Makers'; education professionals who, through their role, have the possibility of amplifying a message, creating awareness and promoting a daily debate through experimentation and innovation. We are convinced that we can reach more people through these multiplier agents. That is why it is important to improve the sustainable and digital competences of the 'Sustainability Makers'.
Through these Sustainability Makers we aim to spread the message more widely to all Vocational Education and Training (VET) professionals who are our beneficiaries in this project.
The VET sector, which is specifically oriented on the labour market, should take responsibility that the current students – the future professionals – will stand on this side of their communities and environment. It is important that the education systems make them aware of their future service for the society and the importance of using their work to improve people’s lives.
Our main priority in this project is to address the digital transformation within the VET sector where we think it is necessary to bring practices and innovative tools in the educational proposals and processes in relation to the values of sustainability.
Stairway to SDG 3.0 wants to keep and promote a multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary and technological approach in order to prepare and train our “Sustainability Makers”. Our goal is to involve these people during the whole process of creation and design of an e-learning platform and a 2D game about the SDGs.
